Keenaghan Lough is a rich lowland lough with a reedy shoreline. The southern shore is the most accessible for bank fishing, stands and disabled stands are provided. As with much of Co Fermanagh the underlying rock is limestone providing a rich source of minerals to the water. This in turn produces rich feeding for the fish in this lough.
At Keenaghan, the north and south lough shores are mostly hard bottomed and easy to wade. Fishing from the western shore is impeded by aquatic weeds. Where shore angling is difficult, natural stone stands are available. The lake offers excellent brown trout angling and is regularly stocked with takeable brown trout. This is a highly productive shallow lough. Popular flies include Olives, Midges, Buzzers and Caddis.

The presence of Zebra Mussels is still preventing the stocking of fish from Movanagher Fish Farm. For more information, please visit Zebra Mussels and impact on fish stocking in the Public Angling Estate.
